Victor Mathew Brotherton-Manna

October 17, 1960 — March 15, 2013

Victor died peacefully at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d' Alene on March 15, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was 52 years old. Victor Mathew Manna was born October 17, 1960 in Pennsylvania to Fred and Delores Manna. His family lived in Lansdale, Pennsylvania but as a child Victor's favorite place was the Jersey Shore. His family moved to Cape Coral, Florida when Victor was 16 and he met his wife Jennifer Brotherton at Edison Community College in 1980. They were married June 6, 1987 in Alva, Florida. Victor, Jenny and their two children Sarah Alli and Seneca made their home in Sandpoint, Idaho in 1998. Victor worked as a director/producer of the local newscast in Juneau, Alaska, at the Department of Health and Welfare in Colfax, Washington, and as an elementary school counselor in Sagle, Idaho. Victor worked for Serco Inc providing services to active naval service members in Everett, Washington. He co-founded North Idaho Children's Mental Health with his wife in 2001 and ran the agency until his death. Victor was a generous and caring spirit who dedicated his life to helping children so often forgotten and ignored. He touched the lives of everyone he met and his offbeat sense of humor brought a smile to even the most hardened heart. He was a doting husband and father whose rare wisdom, passion, and dedication will be sorely missed both in his family and in the entire Sandpoint community. He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny and his two daughters, 22 year old Sarah Alli (and son-in-law Lee Guthrie) of Ketchikan, Alaska and 17 year old Seneca of Sandpoint; his mother Delores and brothers Kevin and Mark Manna of Souderton, Pennsylvania; his mother- in law Althea Brotherton of Sandpoint; and nieces and nephews Megan and Stuart Brotherton, and Matthew and Jesse Majoros. Victor was preceded in death by his father Fred Manna and last month by his father-in-law Bert Brotherton. A celebration of life potluck will be held March 24th at 3pm at the Sandpoint Charter High School to honor his memory. All who knew him are welcome to attend, to share memories of his remarkable life. His family requests donations in his name to LifeCenter Northwest as Victor was an organ donor.
