Alvin Lloyd Steen

Alvin Lloyd Steen, 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Alvin was born on March 26, 1937 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho the son of Elizabeth and Arne Steen. He was a former Marine and was very proud to say so. Al was a long time resident of this area. He was a logger and worked for Sage and MaCalmant logging for many years. He loved being in the woods, whether he was getting firewood or just going on a ride. He knew his way around these woods. One of Al’s enjoyments was packing up a cooler and taking his family huckleberry picking which always involved a picnic by the creek. Al will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lois Steen; his children: Sue (Ira) Owens, Tim (Becky) Jensen, Bob Jensen, Scott (Kathlene) Steen, Kim (Rich) Calvert all from Sandpoint; his brother: Gordon Steen of Sandpoint; his sisters: Evelien Reeves of Liberty Lake, WA, Arlene Helsing of Cheney, WA, Esther (Larry) Braaten of Everett, WA; and multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Arne Steen, his brothers: Roger Steen, David Steen; his sisters: Alice (Bob) Merz, Inez Derington, and Edith Poquette. Graveside services for Alvin Steen will be conducted at McArthur Cemetery in Naples, Idaho on May 18th, 2013 at 10:30AM.
