JoAnn (LaMoreaux) Sisson was born in Spokane, Washington on the 5th of July, 1930 to Ed and Ida LaMoreaux. She passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Life Care after fighting a battle with Alzheimer’s.
JoAnn attended grade school in Ponderay in the one room schoolhouse, and then the family moved to Sandpoint where she attended Farmin and Washington grade school. She graduated high school in Sandpoint and went to work as a legal secretary for Bandelin and Bandelin Attorneys, then for Bandelin, Bandelin and Ponack. From there she went to work for Green and Hunt Attorneys. The last ten years of her working career she was a secretary at the central office of school district 82.
JoAnn married Blaine, the love of her life on February 7, 1951. They raised three fine children, Robert, Janine and David. She enjoyed life to the fullest with a passion for painting and playing the piano and organ for church and for pleasure. She also loved spending time on the lake, boating and motorcycling. One of her most enjoyable trips was to Hot Springs, South Dakota where she got to see her mother’s home and the family grave sites and Mount Rushmore.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Grace Stuart, and three brothers Glenn, Don and Bob. She is survived by her husband Blaine and children Rob (Karen) Sisson, Janine (Greg) Piper and David (Sue) Sisson. She is also survived by her grandchildren Erik (Karine) Sisson, Carrie (Matt) Neahring, Becky Sisson, Beth Craig and Nikki Craig and 8 great grandchildren.
Memorial services for JoAnn will be conducted 11:00AM, Saturday, May 25th at First Baptist Church located at 1230 Michigan in Sandpoint.
