Ticky - Tacky House
Ours is a ticky-tacky house,
The oldest on the street.
Although we try, it’s very hard
To keep it looking neat.
The walls are not exactly straight;
The roof is sagging too.
The steps are worn by many feet;
It’s long since they were new.
Inside there’s lack of closet space;
The plumbing’s very old.
Drafts whisper rudely through the rooms;
In winter, floors are cold.
In our old house we humbly ask
God’s blessing from above;
In spite of flaws, its very dear
Because it shelters love.
