Raymond J. Walsh, 81, of Sagle, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at his home.
Memorial services will be conducted 10:00AM, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Coffelt Funeral Service with Pastor Jon Pomeroy officiating.
Raymond was born Nov. 30, 1931 in Hoboken, NJ the son of Theresa and Raymond Walsh. He was raised in Teaneck, NJ and graduated high school in Englewood, NJ. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
After his military service he attended Fairleigh Dickison College where he met Elizabeth Miller. They were married on Jan. 16, 1960 in New York. Raymond was a traveling water pump salesman throughout his career. In the late 1990’s, following the death of his wife, he moved to Sagle, Idaho from New Jersey.
He enjoyed photography, wildlife, reading and traveling. He was active in the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge as a volunteer, and was also a volunteer driver for cancer patients.
Raymond is survived by 2 daughters: Claire Walsh of Clifton, NY, Kate Walsh of Seattle, WA; and one 1 brother: Bob Walsh of Crystal Lake, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife and 1 sister.
