Barbara Havlicek, 88, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
The Vigil Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday,
August 23rd, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday,
August 24th, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with interment following in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Father Dennis C. Day will be officiating.
Calling hours will from 12 noon Friday until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Barbara was born on Sept. 15, 1924 in Banat-Brestowatz, Yugoslavia. She was raised in Yugoslavia where she attended elementary schools. As a young woman, during WW II, she was placed in a forced labor camp in Russia for 5 years.
On Nov. 24, 1951 she married Anton Havlicek in Pasching, Austria and they immigrated to Sandpoint, Idaho on May 9, 1955.
She raised a garden, sewed and cooked for her family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Barbara is survived by her son John Havlicek, her daughter
Anna Havlicek, both in Sandpoint, ID; her uncle Simon Zellenkowitsch in Germany; and a nephew Jack Backes in California. Two cousins Barbara Vanderlinde, in Canada and Ann Molnar in Germany also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister and 2 nephews.
