Rachel Charlene Richardson left us to go home to her Heavenly Father on September 4, 2013. Rachel was born on September 25, 1927 to Charles and Lalia Corf in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
She married David Richardson on March 13, 1946. They started out their married life living in Rocky Ford, Colorado. David took a job with Rockwell International, that’s when they moved to Anaheim California and raised their family. Rachel worked various jobs while living in California. In December of 1968 they lost a son, David Joseph, in a car wreck.
In 1971 they packed up and moved to Idaho. Rachel worked at Connie’s Café, and then went to work for Les at the M & J Market. Her last job was with General Telephone until retirement. David and Rachel were married for 55 years before he passed in 2001. Rachel enjoyed life and spending time with her Daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, dancing, crafts, and quilting. She loved going to Arizona to sunshine and warm weather during the winter. This is where she meets her final companion Duane Nicholson, but we knew him as Red. They spent many years of traveling, eating out, dancing; anything fun they could find to do….He was very good to Mom and fit in to our family nicely…
She is survived by her daughters, Sally (Rob) Robinson of Alaska; Debbie (Richard) Brown of Sandpoint, Idaho; and Julie (Rick) Larkin of Ponderay, Idaho. Grandchildren David Brown and his daughter Madeline, Eric and Jennifer Brown and their sons Mikel and Joseph, Andrew and Julianne Brown and their daughter Ayianna, and Kevin Brown all of Sandpoint, Idaho; Brian Brown of Moscow, Idaho; Perry Larkin of Portland, Oregon; and Aaron Larkin of Acton, California.
We will be celebrating Rachel’s life on what would have been her 86th birthday, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 @ 1pm; at the home of her grandson Andrew Brown in Ponder Point, 185 Upper Humbird Dr. Come share some time and stories you may have….
