James Arthur Jasman

James Arthur Jasman, 64, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Bonner General Hopsital in Sandpoint, Idaho after a prolonged battle with a chronic illness. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Chuck Wigton officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Jim was born on June 20, 1949 in Sandpoint. He attended Southside and Sandpoint schools. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho in Animal Science and primarily worked on the family ranch and assisted his father in the Vermeer Haying Equipment dealership. He was a member of many different associations including; Kootenai Kattle Grazing Association, Cattleman’s Association, Northern Lights Board of Directors, and he was serving on the board of Co-Op Gas and Supply at the time of his death. He will be remembered as a person who loved farming, ranching, and people. Jim was always cheerful despite years of chronic pain and adverse health conditions. He had a remarkable ability to patiently and precisely instruct others in solving their mechanical and electrical problems. Jim is survived by one daughter, Lori, and several of her four-legged “children,” his mother, Jean Jasman, and four sisters: Cynthia Jasman of Colbert, Joyce Sheley and husband Paul of Okanogan, Linda Bell and husband Mark of Sagle, and Lora Jasman and husband Christopher Biermann of Spokane, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Jasman and brother Richard Jasman.
