Margaret Lena Bradetich

Margaret Lena Bradetich, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11:00 am in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Margaret was born in 1926 the daughter of Robert and Bessie Hatcher` in Ennis, Montana. She married John Bradetich on December 11, 1942 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Margaret had a love for travel, she was able to visit all 50 states, and in her later years she was lucky enough to travel to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. She was a member of a local hiking group in Sandpoint, called the Monday Hikers. She loved to swim and fish at her home on Lakeshore Drive in Sagle. Margaret and her husband John purchased the Boyer Grocery Store in 1952. In 1962, they expanded into a new store called the M & J Supermarket, located on 5th avenue in Sandpoint. In 1972, they built the Sandpoint Discount Warehouse on Highway 95 just north of Sandpoint. Later they would sell the store and in 1982 they bought a ranch on Samuels Road. Margaret is survived by her three daughters: JoAnn (John) Ozbun of Eugene, OR, Carol Bradetich of Spokane, WA and Rhonda Bradetich of Sausalito, Ca: 12 grandchildren; Keith Ozbun, James Ozbun, Polly Tokich, Christine Ozbun, Shane Ozbun, Craig Davis, Robin Freeberg, John Davis, Victoria Carleton, Brenda Bush, Jennifer Tifft and Cassandre Tifft; 29 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband John in 1999, her parents and her daughter Mary Ann. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Lupus Foundation.
