Stan Meserve, 85, passed away on Thursday; December 26, 2013.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Monday; December 30, 2013 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Stan Norman, Sandpoint United Methodist Church will be officiating.
Stan was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on January 11, 1928 the son of Carl and Alta Meserve. He went to the Selle School where he graduated from the 8th grade. He graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1946 prior to joining the US Army and serving during the occupation of Japan. On April 16, 1949 he married E. Geneva Knobf in Sandpoint, Idaho. For many years he farmed in the Selle area, operating a Grade A dairy farm. In 1957 he started with the CO-Op Gas and Supply, retiring, after 35 years, in 1992.
Stan held a private pilots license and loved to fly, he also enjoyed traveling with the Rainbow Chasers RV Club, hunting and fishing in the area.
He is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Geneva Meserve in Sandpoint, ID; two children Guy (and Ann) Meserve in Samuels, ID; Becky Schoenberg in Moscow, ID; two grandchildren Amanda (Ryan) Souza in Cheney, WA; Corey (Jeffrey) Eifert in Twisp, WA; a great grandson Jacob Souza in Cheney, WA; and a brother Carl G. Meserve in Buckley, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert.
