Earl Elmer Nettleingham, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Sandpoint, Idaho

Earl was born on July 3, 1926 in Colburn, Idaho the son of Charles and Bernice Nettleingham. Earl was raised and grew up on his parent’s farm, he attended local schools here in Sandpoint and worked part time for the Pack River Lumber Company driving truck. Earl enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1943 at the age of 17. Earl served in the South Pacific including Okinawa, Japan. After Japan surrendered he would serve in China before coming home.
After being honorably discharged from the service he would return to Sandpoint and started building homes. Later, Earl would get married and have a daughter and would move to Spokane, Washington in 1950. In the ensuing years Earl would spend time in both Spokane and Sandpoint.
Earl loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his son Doug (Terri) Nettleingham of Sandpoint, and daughter Laura Winebarger of Sandpoint; and his three sisters Dorothy Schilke of Seattle, WA, Ann Schilke of Portland, OR and Shirley James of Vancouver, WA.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Karen Nettleingham.
