Vickey was by nature a very giving person and this was evidenced by her taking care of others throughout her life. She cared for handicapped children, the elderly, and whoever needed loving, tender care, including many people here in Sandpoint for the past twenty years. She also did a significant amount of community service including serving at the soup kitchen.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many positions. She enjoyed doing genealogy, going to the temple when her health allowed, reading, and especially enjoyed shopping, usually for others. Vickey was proud of her heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. But the joy of her life was her family.
