Henery Allen Roys

Henry Allen Roys, 74, of Kootenai, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Bonner General Hospital. He was born April 23, 1934 in Volga, Iowa the son of Jessie and Florence Roys. He was raised and educated in Iowa. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict, during which he was a prisoner of war. Upon his discharge he attended technical school studying to be an electrical technician. On 1968 he married Sharon Louise Sherrard in Spokane. He worked in California for a time and later moved to Spokane, WA where he worked as a signal inspector with the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 1996. Henry enjoyed shooting trap, fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife of Kootenai; son: Robert (Marie) Steed of Riverside, CA; stepson: Mark Edwards; 2 grandchildren: Marlene and Amy; 2 great grandchildren: Peter and Paul; sister-in-law: Louise Geist of Spokane, WA; 6 siblings: Les (Mary) Roys of Oregon, Wisconsin, Tom (Deon) Roys of West Union, Iowa, Kathy (Mac) Duff of Fayette, Iowa, Lois (Ted) Golden of Summer, Iowa, Shirley (Keith) Young of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Mary (Dennis) DeGroote of Shell Rock, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
