Timothy George Moore, 75, of Sagle, Idaho, passed away in Mesa, Arizona on February 5th, 2014 unexpectedly from lung and heart failure. Tim was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 22nd, 1938 to parents George Moore and Vernetta Moore (Toutant). Tim graduated from Fenton High School in Fenton, Michigan in 1957 and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in marketing in 1961. Tim received his commission for the United States Air Force in December 1961 and completed pilot’s training at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama from April 1962 to April 1963. He served with the 920th Refueling Squadron at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan from August 1963 to March 1967 and also flew with the Air National Guard at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire. He began with the Air Force as second lieutenant and completed his military service as captain. In 1967, Tim began his career as a pilot with Trans World Airlines (TWA). He initially started as a flight engineer and retired from TWA as a Captain based out of St. Louis, Missouri in 1989. Tim married Carol Moore (Geller) in 1961 and had two children, Brian and Kelly. They later divorced. Tim met Marcia Moore (Anderson) in 1977 while the two were working for TWA, he as a pilot and she as a flight attendant, and they were married in Bermuda in 1978. They had two girls, Erin and Carrie. Tim and Marcia moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Sagle, Idaho in 1986 and have been long-time residents of Bottle Bay on Lake Pend Oreille ever since. Marcia began her career as a primary school teacher at Sagle Elementary School. Marcia retired in June of 2013 and it was their dream to split their retirement between Mesa, Arizona and Bottle Bay. Tim was passionate about his alma mater, Michigan State University, and was an avid fan of the school’s football and basketball teams. He thought northern Idaho was the most beautiful place on earth and he loved his Bottle Bay neighbors and Sandpoint friends. He also loved politics, history, and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Above all else, Tim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who wanted nothing more than spending time with those he loved. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vernetta Moore, and his sister, Barbara Moore. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcia Moore, and his four children: Brian Moore of LaValle, Wisconsin; Kelly Bakken (Moore) and Tom Bakken of Waunakee, Wisconsin; Erin Butler (Moore) and Jesse Butler of Sandpoint, Idaho; and Carrie Moore of Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by his sisters Michele Rochon (Moore) and Charlene Moore of Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, Florida and his four grandsons: Aidan Bakken, Sean Bakken, and Christian Bakken of Waunakee, Wisconsin; and Rylan Butler of Sandpoint, Idaho. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd at Coffelt’s Funeral Home with a reception to follow at Forty-One South Restaurant. The family would be touched to have those who knew Tim or the family in attendance.
