William E. Boyd, 63, of Cocolalla, died Friday evening, June 27, 2008 at his home.
Graveside funeral services for William and Michele Boyd will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 7th in the Westmond Cemetery. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God will officiate. Mr. Boyd will be buried with military honors.
Friends may call at Coffelt Funeral Service on Sunday, July 6th, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
He was born July 3, 1944 in Stockton, CA the son of Ralph and Minnie Boyd and was raised in
California. When he was 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1961 until 1965 and spent a tour of duty in Vietnam, being awarded two purple hearts. Mr. Boyd was a skilled diesel mechanic.
He found great pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed a party and since his birthday was on July 3rd they would celebrate on the 4th with a 5th. He enjoyed hunting, camping, riding 4 wheelers, and all outdoor activities. He was a member of the VFW.
On July 15, 1978, William Boyd and Michele Michael were married in California. On July 15th they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage. They moved to Cocolalla, Idaho in 1996.
They found great pleasure in spending time with their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by 2 children: Brooke (and Dayle) WesOn July 15, 1978, William Boyd and Michele Michael were married in California. Priest River, Clint Boyd of Cocolalla; 3 grandchildren: Megan, Michael, William; his mother: Minnie Boyd of Manteaca, CA; 2 brothers: Tom (and Patsy) of Tracy, CA, Don and Terry of Wyoming; and 2 sisters: Jeantte Boyd and Mary (and Steve) Alexander both of Manteaca, CA. His father and 1 sister preceded him in death.
He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
