Frederick Charles DeLosh

Frederick C. “Fred” Delosh, 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Garfield Bay. The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 9th in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 31, 1917. He attended IC Parish Elementary School, graduated from Pocono High School for Boys as Co-Valedictorian, Prom King, and Class President. He attended the seminary for two years and later became a flight instuctor for the Army Air Corp. On April 11, 1942 he married Mary Maxine Tomlinson from Clarendon, Texas in Milwaukee. They settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota and had four children: Deone Ann, Daniel Lee, Frederick Alan and Rochelle Marie. He was a pilot for Mid continent Airways and later for Braniff International Airways flying South America, and troops to and from Vietnam. Fred and Maxine temporarily lived in Miami, Florida, Lima, Peru, and Lake Tahoe, California. Fred was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was an Avid Sportsman excelling in boxing, semi-pro basketaball, quarter horse showmanship, but not limited particularly in swimming, skiing, and football. He is survived by 3 of his chldren: Deone Smith, Daniel DeLosh and Rochelle Daly, 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife Maxine DeLosh and Son Frederick A. DeLosh.
