Glada Ann Longpre

Glada Ann (Nicholls) Longpre, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Bonner General Hospital. She was 84 years old. The Rosary/Vigil Service will be conducted on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 7:30 pm in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis C Day officiating. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Glada was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on January 1, 1930 to Florida and Walter Nicholls. In April of 1949 Glada married Merrill Longpre. They had six children and lived in Wisconsin. Glada worked hard at raising their children, doing housework, yard work and gardening. She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and picnicking. She tended to her beautiful yard, flower and vegetable gardens. She was a great cook, canner, wine and root beer maker. Glada was an avid mystery buff, reading mystery books, watching mystery movies and TV shows. Glada and Merrill loved to travel and when he retired they moved to Colorado and became snowbirds migrating to Arizona every winter to prospect, go fishing and enjoy the sunshine. She especially enjoyed the side trips to Laughlin to play the slots. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Glada is survived by her husband Merrill Longpre, two brothers Robert and Walter (Vivian) Nicholls, one sister JoAnn Conery; six children, Susan (Todd) Carver, Linda Longpre, Mary (William) Bleuer, David (Mereani) Longpre, Diane (William) Leach, Jean (Robert) Woolridge; grandchildren Christa, Matthew, Robby, Jenny, Zachary, Nicole, Henry and James; great grandchildren, Victoria, Gillian, Brian and Clare.
