Steven Wayne Stevens

Steven Wayne Stevens, 58, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho.   Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:30 am in the Sandpoint United Methodist Church with Pastor Stan Norman officiating.    Steve was born on February 18, 1956 in San Gabriel, California the son of Truman and Leona Stevens.  He grew up and attended local schools in El Monte, California graduating high school in 1974 from Le Monte High.    In 1976, Steve would enlist in the US Army and was stationed in Scofield, Hawaii.  He was honorably discharged in 1980 and return to El Monte, California to begin his career as a lineman for the AT&T phone company.  In 1988, Steve would move to San Diego, California where he would continue to work as a lineman.  Steve moved to Sandpoint, Idaho in 2004, where he would retire.   Steve enjoyed racing motorcycles and fishing in Baja, Mexico and also enjoyed hunting.   Memorials may be made to the Bonner County Humane Society   Steve is survived by his wife Rene; his son Robert (Christine) Stevens of Sandpoint, ID; his daughter Ashley Stevens of Kentucky; his parents Truman and Leona Stevens of Sandpoint, ID; his two sisters Michelle Goode of Sandpoint and Bobbi (Ken) Perry of Sierra Madre, CA; his nephew Mark Perry of California; and his four grandchildren Caleb Hunsinger, Jacob Stevens, Jayden Blake and Chase Blake.
