Beverly Maxine (Compton) Thompson, 76 of Sandpoint passed away peacefully on Saturday April 12, 2014 in Sandpoint.A memorial gathering will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Sandpoint Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.She was born on Dec. 19, 1937 in Yuma, AZ the daughter of Grace Christine and Troy W. Compton. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Ronald K. Thompson on Dec. 27, 1956 in Santa Maria, CA. Together they raised four children: Rodney K. Thompson of Sandpoint, Gregory A. (Belinda) Thompson of San Luis Obispo, CA, Cynthia G. (Larry) Wood of Parkersburg, WV, Carolyn Dee (Dan) Lynch of Sandpoint.On their first visit to Sandpoint they fell in love with the area and moved here in 1986 to Kaniksu Shores. Beverly served as the president of Kaniksu Shores Association for three years. They opened a children’s store called Little Guy and Gals in downtown Sandpoint. She was instrumental in organizing many fundraisers for the first animal shelter in Sandpoint and helped design the first Animal Shelter float for the 4th of July parade.Beverly was a loving wife and mother who loved her family unconditionally and was there for them whenever they needed her. She was a very spiritual person who knew the scriptures very well and had a great faith in our Heavenly Father. She will always be in our hearts and we know we will see her again in heaven. We love you mom!In addition to her children she leaves behind her mother: Christine Compton, two sisters: Myrna Dee (Roger) Anthony, Carolyn (Don) Apple all of Sandpoint; and by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Troy W. Compton, 1 brother: Charles E. Compton and her loving husband Ronald K. Thompson in October 2011.The family would like to thank everyone at Valley Vista Care Center for the good care they provided for Beverly.
