Margaret Anne Maisel, 79 a longtime resident of Sandpoint passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at her home. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chad Wilks officiating. Margaret was born October 23, 1934 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; the daughter of Luster and Marjory Schimming. She was raised in Hammond, Indiana and received her schooling there. She later attended South Suburban College, Moody Bible Institute, and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in nursing. While in Denver she met Rodney A. Maisel and they were married August 11, 1967 in Denver. Margaret was a nurse in South Chicago, later in Denver and in the O.B. Department at Bonner General Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary where she served in many capacities. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlework, reading and photography. In recent years she attended the Church of the Nazarene in Sandpoint. She is survived by her husband Rodney Maisel of Sandpoint; 2 children: Kathleen (Chuck) Ashton, Andrew Maisel both of Sandpoint; 2 step grandchildren: Micheal and Mason Witt; 2 brothers: Richard (Judy) Schimming of Munster, Indiana, Gerald Schimming of Ennis, Texas and 1 sister: Janet (H. Lee) Sprecker of Norman, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Gideons International or the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene.
