Patrick J. "Pat" Peters

Patrick “Pat” Joseph Peters, 65, of Sagle passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Memorial services will be conducted 10:00am Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Coffelt Funeral Service with Father Dennis C. Day, officiating. Inurnment will take place later in the Washington State Veterans Cemetery. He was born March 17, 1949 in Buffalo, NY the son of Walter and Tillie Peters. He was raised in Chicago along with his 2 sisters and 5 brothers. After school he joined the U.S. Navy but while on leave was seriously injured in an auto accident which left him permanently disabled. In the early 1970’s he came to Sandpoint for a visit and decided this was where he wanted to live. In November of 1986 he married Mary Lexow and they have resided in Sagle since that time. Pat was a very intelligent man who enjoyed reading, was interested in holistic medicines, taking road trips, and was a very conservative shopper. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the VFW. He is survived by his wife Mary of Sagle; one daughter: Rebecka (Tom) Clark of Sandpoint, one granddaughter: Kyra Clark; 7 siblings: Fred Peters of Florida, Naomi Chamberlin of Illinois, Corinne Schrempf of Illinois, Wally Peters of Colorado, Marty Peters of Alaska, Ken and Brian Peters both of Illinois; his step-mother, Josephina Peters and her extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
