Robert James “Bob” Pitts, 79, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00pm, Friday, August 15, 2014 at Coffelt Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at the Ponderay Event Center, 401 Bonner Mall Way, suite E in Ponderay, ID.
Bob was born September 10, 1934 in Spokane, Washington the son of Carl and Mary Lake Pitts. He was raised in Priest River and graduated high school there. While in school he was involved with Golden Gloves Boxing and Track and Field.
He was married to Frances Wyonnia on June 20, 1953 and they were married for 54 years before her passing in 2008. They moved to Sandpoint and Bob worked in the woods for a time. He later worked as a well driller for over 50 years.
Bob enjoyed working, reading and passing on his skills to his family, friends, and loved ones.
He is survived by three sons: Dale, Lyle and Kellie, Mark and Robin; his brother: Carl and Maxine Pitts; his grandchildren: Clayton, Brenda and Brian Trotter, Victoria, Elizabeth and Brian Peters, Samantha, Savannah; his great grandchildren: Mercedes and Madaline Trotter and Kelsi Pitts. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances, parents: Carl and Mary Pitts, his sister: Maryellen Schmidt, brothers: Henry Pitts, Jack Pitts, his son: Michael Pitts and daughter: Laura Marie Pitts.
