Beatrice Adell Glahe, 83, of Sandpoint, died peacefully at home on September 21, 2008. She was born February 9, 1925 in Roseau, Minnesota, to Pearl (Yost) and George Listug. She left home and went to work for Honeywell in Minneapolis/ St. Paul when WWII started. In 1944, she moved to Idaho with her family. She met Lawrence W Glahe, the love of her life, at a dance at the Oden Grange. On April 5, 1945 they were married. She gave birth to two children before moving to Tumwater, Washington in 1953. Beatrice and her husband moved back to the family home in Hope in 1976. A couple years ago, they moved into Sandpoint. Beatrice will be remembered for her soft-spoken words, kindness and devotion to her family. We love you mom.
Her parents and her sister Silvia Becker preceded Beatrice in death.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; son Larry and daughter-in-law Jackie Glahe; daughter Deonna and son-in law Curt Harris; grandchildren Nikki Glahe (Tacoma, WA), Shana (Glahe) & Steve O’Donnell (Boise), Tyson & Sarah Glahe (Hope), Joeli & Jeff Martin (Grover Beach, CA), Curtis & Christy Harris (Rochester, WA), Tony & Joy Harris (Hope), and Jackie Dobbins (Rochester, WA), and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother George & Marj Listug (Hope), Kathleen Scramstad (Newburg, OR), Rose McKenzie (The Dalles, OR), Ruth Cleveland (AL), Lily Huddleston (Rufus, OR), sister-in-law Mary Irene Glahe (Coburg, OR) and numerous nieces and nephews. A special appreciation for her Ginger Banks, her niece, for all her help and the joy she brought to the family over the years and their close friends, Bill and Freida Fournier.
No public services will be held at Beatrice’s request. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
