Annie Laurie Martin, 86, of Tulsa Oklahoma, died Oct. 17th 2014. Annie, daughter of Julia and Samuel Marshall, loving wife of Richard Martin, all who preceded her in death. She passed away at Hillcrest Cushing hospital, Tulsa Oklahoma.
Services will be held 10am Wednesday October 29th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on the corner of Boyer and Schweitzer cut off road. Friends may call at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Interment will be in the Pack River Cemetery.
Annie was born in the town of Gypsum, Colorado on July 24, 1928 to Julia and Samuel Marshall. She was the youngest of four children. She married Richard Martin on October 26, 1947 in Glasgow, Montana. They moved to Sandpoint in 1954 where they raised their family. Annie worked for a time at Idaho First National Bank in Sandpoint and later worked for Dan Featherston.
In 1984, after their boys were raised, they moved to Alaska, a place Annie loved. She retired from working for the city of Seward in the mid 90’s. Together she and Richard served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after which they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She loved to play the piano, draw, paint and take pictures of nature’s wonders.
She was a past member of the Westmond Grange and the Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by mother & father Julia and Samuel, husband, Richard, son, Ricky, sister, Velma Gordon, brother, Ed McGlochlin.
She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Jim &Carolyn, David & Barbara, Gerry & Brenda and Bruce, Sister Loretta Short, Brother Joe Marshall; 12 grandchildren, and more than 20 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
