Irma P. Ridley, 80. passed away in Coeur d’Alene, ID on Saturday,
Oct. 11, 2008.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Oct. 16th, in the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint. Pastor Steve Neuder will be officiating.
Irma was born in Haxtun, CO on Sept. 8, 1928 the daughter of Paul and Sadie Tillberg. The family moved to the Sandpoint area in Aug. 1942 and she graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1946. On Dec. 26, 1948 she and Howard Ridley were married and they lived at the south end of Division Street. For many years the family helped care for the Lakeview Cemetery which was across the street.
She volunteered for more than 20 years with the Sandpoint Senior Thrift Store. She enjoyed league bowling for many years in the Sandpoint Leagues and playing bingo. She was a loyal sports fan following the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Seahawks. Her friends, her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important to Irma.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint and the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. For many years she participated, with the drill team, in Eagles Lodge ritual competition.
Irma is survived by 2 daughter June (and Randy) Campbell of Dover, ID; Carla Barnes of Gaithersburg, MD; 4 sons Jack (and Donna) Ridley of Dover, ID; Wayne (and Claudia) Ridley of Sandpoint, ID; Kirk (and Debi) Ridley of Anchorage, AK; Gary (and Barbara) Ridley of Sandpoint, ID; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters Mae (and Walt) Burt of Sandpoint, ID; Gloria Buck of Deer Lodge, MT; 2 brothers Steve (and Maureen) Tillberg, Stan (and Nancy) Tillberg both in Sandpoint, ID; and her best friend Lucille Kibler in Sandpoint, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, and
3 brothers Paul, Morris, and Johnny.
