Clara Belle Galloway

April 25, 1926 — January 21, 2015

Clara Belle (Crabb) Galloway passed away peacefully the morning of January 21, 2015. She was 88 years old. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. She was born April 25, 1926 to Clarence Delno and Ruth Mae (Wilson) Crabb, in Lewiston, Idaho. She was the fourth youngest of a group of eight children. She was raised in Morton, Idaho where she met and married Ervin Gene Galloway on January 19, 1946. They lived and worked in Northern Idaho, where they raised seven children. Clara Belle and her husband had moved to Thomson Falls, Montana in the early 80’s and in 1985 they had moved to Washington, where they had lived until the day of their deaths. Clara and Ervin raised their family with open hearts and an open door, they welcomed and loved everyone and would never turn their back on anyone in need. They didn’t have many friends because they viewed and treated everyone like family. Clara Belle had loved to travel from one place to another and never staying still. She loved her children and grandchildren very much, and traveling with them visiting family and friends everywhere. She also had loved making quilts for her family. Clara Belle would make her grandchildren march two and a half (2.5) miles to watch soap operas, and when they weren’t on she would fill her time with romance novels. She would write her children letters when she couldn’t visit them in person. Along with the love and support for her family she enjoyed supporting the troops in all branches of the military. Clara Belle enjoyed the outdoors and wild life. Although she didn’t hunt much she felt at home at camp looking after the hunters. Clara Belle joins the love of her life, Ervin, her parents, four brothers: Lewis, Arthur, Robert, and Gene, three sisters: Viola, Ethel, and Mary Ann, her oldest son Ralph, five grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, and her creator in heaven. Clara Belle will be missed dearly by her siblings: Herman (Roberta/Tootie), (Joyce A), Ralph (Leona). Six children Alice F, Bert D (Lorena), Joseph T (Deborah), (Frances), William G (Sherry), Peggy E, Barbara M, twenty- eight grandchildren, fifty- three great-grandchildren, eight great- great- grandchildren, and an irreplaceable and large extended family. Clara Belle was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Crabb who passed away, two days before his sister, on January 19, 2015.
