Seth Batt passed away on January 23, 2015 at the age of 84 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. Seth was born in Magna, Utah on March 31, 1930. He was the second of seven sons born to Seth and Erma Batt.
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 am, Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2293 W. Hanley Ave, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
Seth served with the 101st Airborne Brigade and then as an aide for General Douglas Macarthur in the Philippines during World War II, completing his tour honorably. During his lifetime he worked as a police officer, chef, owned his own restaurant; cut and sold Christmas trees, cut firewood, logged with horses and a bulldozer, drove truck, and was a construction foreman and superintendent. He was known as a man of his word, and always fair and honest with all.
He enjoyed fishing immensely, however, never did catch that “Big One” in Priest Lake! Family camping trips were filled with fishing competitions; first fish, biggest fish, most fish and so on. Everyone was a winner! Seth loved to use acrylic paints to create beautiful paintings for his family and friends. He was also very creative in making jewelry, everything had possibilities!
He is survived by his wife Joetta Marguerite of 55 years; six children: Steven Batt, Catharine Zabel, Timothy Batt, Leon Batt, Rachel Townsend, Mary Batt; five brothers, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
