Dorothy Edna Copeland, 100, of California passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Life Care of Sandpoint.
Private family services will be held at a later time.
Dorothy was born Feb. 7, 1914 in Pasadena, CA the daughter of Edwin and Olive Lowe. She was raised in educated in Pasadena, and on Dec. 5, 1943 married the love of her life Robert William Copeland in San Diego, CA. They moved to Golden, Colorado after the war and in 1949, moved to South America where her husband was a geologist. They traveled extensively with his career living in, Central and South America, North Africa, Saudi Arabia, Greece, and Canada. In 1975 they returned to the United States and lived in Ely, Nevada.
Following the death of her husband in 1977 Dorothy moved to Salinas, CA and in 1990 moved to San Raphael, CA. In 2007 she moved to Sandpoint, and has been living at Life Care for most of that time.
Dorothy enjoyed her travels throughout the world and learning local customs and new cultures. In addition she appreciated Japanese Floral arranging.
She is survived by two daughters: Cindy Peer of Sandpoint, Susan Santell of Salinas, CA, 6 grandsons, and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
