On February 12, 2015 our beloved and courageous mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt left this world hand in hand with Jesus her Savior. We celebrate knowing that she is pain free and joining her husband, parents, and other loved ones who have gone before her.
Gloria Ann Brooks was born September 10, 1948 in Ada, Oklahoma to Elvin “Woody” and Inez Wood. Along her life’s path she lived in Fontana, California where she met and married Ken Johnson. They had three girls before heading to Sandpoint, Idaho to raise their family which soon included a son.
After a fork in the road, Gloria’s journey led her to marry Jack Brooks. The newly blended family included Jack “Butch” (Debra) Brooks, Jill (Jerry) Blackman, and Denise (Jeff) Tritt. They shared their lives for 26 years before Jack crossed over to the Promised Land. How happy they must be now that they are together again.
Gloria’s life is being celebrated by her children, Debbie Johnson (Kim), Donna Roundy, Dianne (Ted) Brauer and Doug Johnson; her brother John (Betty) Wood; her nieces: Julie Decker and Laura (Moises) Gallegos; her nephew: Caleb (Candace) Wood; and dear family friends Rick and Rhonda Larson and Karen Lorbecki. Joining the celebration and who gave her tremendous joy are her beloved grandchildren: Flynn (Melissa) Roundy, Gretchen (Roger) Shorten, Lindsay (Nate) Evans, Zak Roundy, Cody Brauer, Jaelen Johnson, Riley Brauer, Kessler Johnson, Madisyn Brauer, Jenacey Johnson, and Kourtni Johnson; and great grandchildren: Logan and Aidan Roundy and Kyanna and Nevaeh Evans.
Please join us in the commemoration of her life at 11:00am, March 7, 2015 at the Hickory St. Baptist Church, 1203 Hickory Street, Sandpoint, followed by a potluck lunch at the VFW Hall, 1325 Pine Street.
