Janice Metzger Roosenberg

Janice Metzger Roosenberg, 70, passed away at her home in Sagle, Idaho on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 am in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvaro Sauza of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be on held Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Janice was born on July 31, 1944 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Otis and Margaret Metzger. She was raised in Gobles, Michigan and graduated from Grand Ledge Academy in 1962. Janice married her longtime friend, David Roosenberg, on June 20, 1965 in Bloomingdale, Michigan. They lived in Illinois, Ohio, Colorado, and California before retiring to Sagle, Idaho in 2013. Janice and David were active members of the Sandpoint Seventh-day Adventist Church and considered the congregation as part of their extended family. Janice had a deep love for her family and spent as much time with them as she could. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting and other forms of needle work. She also enjoyed studying civil war history, and watching professional bull riding and Denver Broncos football. Janice is survived by David Roosenberg, her husband of 49 years; two daughters Kari (Jeff) DeFreest of Ketchikan, Alaska and Dianne (Joe) Aguirre of East Hope, Idaho; a sister Bonnie Coffel of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother Bob Metzger of Asheville, North Carolina; and her two grandchildren Jake Aguirre and Sam Aguirre. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her two older brothers, Jim Metzger and Jerry Metzger.
