Gilbert G "Gil" Barbee

Gilbert Gene “Gil” Barbee, 84, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Wednesday, March 17, 2015. Gil was born on January 19, 1931 in Joplin, Missouri. He would later serve with the US Coast Guard from 1950 until 1954. He was a self-employed land surveyor, working in California until his retirement in 1981. In 1987 he moved to Sandpoint, Idaho and became active in the Sandpoint Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Joanne Barbee of Sandpoint. Also surviving are Julie Neely, Thom Barbee, Steven Neely, Justin Neely, Danielle Barberis, Brandon Neely, Jacob Hutton, Robert Barbee; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
