Catherine Jane Rembowski

Catherine Jane (Ramsay) Rembowski, 72, of Laclede passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, March 30, 2015 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Moore Officiating. Burial will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Catherine was born on August 3, 1942 to James (Warren) Ramsay and Helen Elizabeth (Kimzey) Ramsay in Newport, Washington. She spent her entire life in the Laclede area except for a partial year she spent at Waitsburg, Washington. On December 6, 1971 Catherine married Leon Rembowski of Laclede and helped in raising her step-son Leon Jr. She also had a step-daughter Sabrina. Leon and Catherine enjoyed each other and had many hobbies including camping, hunting, snow catting and even taking two trips to Alaska. They were married 26 years before Leon passed away. Catherine enjoyed her garden and flowers always growing enough to help friends and neighbors out with fresh produce and poseys. During her working career she did many different jobs. She did babysitting for a single father of five children then went to work for Gary Peitch, the popsicle stick factory, next came Swafford Cut Shop to Fournier Cut Shop, Pend Oreille Cheese Factory for Bill Beyers then before retiring she did security for Riley Creek Lumber Mill for quite a few years and retiring to care for her mother. Catherine is survived by two brothers Richard and Marie Ramsay of La Pine, Oregon; James “Butch” and Pat Ramsay of Laclede; five nephews Chad, Gene, Nick, Mark and C.J. Ramsay; four nieces Kerry and Kevin Sarbacker, Marcy and James Black, Calista Elena and Nikki-Rose Ramsay; her step-son Leon Rembowski Jr. of Florida; step-daughter Sabrina and Mike Edgars of Oldtown; brother-in-law Gordon and Lynette Rembowski; several step-grandchildren and also numerous great nieces and nephews all in Lewiston, Spokane, Laclede and La Pine areas. She is preceded in death by her husband Leon, Brother Robert Ramsay, her parents Warren and Helen Ramsay.
