Dorothy Nell Dazey

Dorothy Nell Dazey, 70, of Ponderay passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born December 11, 1944 in Meridian, Mississippi. She moved to Kellogg, Idaho in 1963 and had a son, Lonnie, with Richard Scheffelmaier. In 1968 she moved to Sandpoint, Idaho where she later married Ralph Dazey with whom she had four children. Dorothy received a degree in electronics from Spokane Tech in 1980. She loved yard sales, collected angels and jewelry boxes and enjoyed crocheting. However the joy of her life were her beloved grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Lonnie (Winona) Scheffelmaier, Sr., Eurie “Sissy” Renfro of Elmira, ID, Catharina Kay (Vincent) Croy of Sandpoint, Bud G. (Adrianne) Dazey of Colburn, Ralph C Dazey of Spokane, WA, Rebecca “Becky” (Doug) Smith of Hayden Lake, ID, adopted daughter Angel (Jimmy) Inman of Sagle, ID; 3 sisters and 1 brother. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dewayne, Deanna, Alyssa, Lonnie, Jr., Amie, Arron, Paige, Paul Ray, Teresa, Makayla and Jessica; and by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Tammy Joe, her husband: Ralph, 1 brother Frank, 1 sister Jenny; and son-in-law Larry Renfro. You are invited to a celebration of Dorothy’s life at 2:00pm, Saturday April 18th at the Sandpoint City Beach. There will be a balloon release on the Statue of Liberty Pier, please bring your favorite colored helium balloon.
