Esther Lorene Verwolf, 88, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Sunday, May 24, 2015, her birthday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God, will be officiating. A reception will follow at the Dover Community Hall.
Esther was born on May 24, 1927 in Sandpoint, Idaho the daughter of John and Effie Becker. As a child, she moved to Aberdeen, Idaho where she grew up and attended school. She returned to Sandpoint and married Anthony (Stub) Verwolf on July 2, 1946 in Thompson Falls, Montana. The family lived in the Sandpoint area and raised their family.
She was a member of the Dover Community Church and the Dover Girls. She enjoyed crocheting, raising her garden, canning the produce and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her children Vicki (Bob) Henry in Sandpoint; Larry Verwolf in Sandpoint; and Kari (Jim) Gage in Sagle. She is also survived by her sister Ella Mae Chronic and her brother Don Becker; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stub, her sons Steve and James, a granddaughter Katie Gage; her siblings Bill Becker, Juanita Wilke, Hazel Overland and Bob Becker.
