Kathleen L. “Kathy” Ginter, 60, died Tuesday afternoon from injuries received in an automobile accident on Highway 95, near Elmira.
Memorial services will be scheduled later this summer.
Kathy was born on October 12, 1954 in Fort Morgan Colorado the daughter of Homer and Ina Mae Burkheart. She grew up, and attended local schools, in Fort Morgan, Colorado and graduated from high school there. She moved to the Sandpoint area in 1990 and was self-employed as a housekeeper. She enjoyed her horses, her flowers, fly fishing and especially her family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children Billie Jo (and Gabriel) Homan; Samantha (and Jacob) Gipson; and Lucas Ginter; six grandchildren Garrett, Zachary, Alexis and Matthew Homan; Emma and Joshua Gipson; and her significant other Bob McCoy all from Sandpoint. Also surviving are her brother Charles Rucker in Colorado Springs, Colorado and her sister Caroline Petterson in Fort Morgan, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald J. Ginter and her son Anthony J. Ginter.
