Kathryn Elaine Hlipala

Kathy “Kat” Hlipala, 52 passed away at her home on Thursday, Jan. 22,2009 in Sandpoint, ID. She was the beloved sister of Karen “Kelly” (Jim) Russell of Sagle, ID. Linda Hlipala of Hope, ID. Sandra (Jim) Thompson of Post Falls, ID. Eleanor (Frank, deceased) Turiace of Marina Del Rey, CA. Shirley (Loren) Keefer of Newton Fall, OH. Juanita (Bob) Deedebof Sun City, AZ. Jim (Jenny Ozanich) Hlipala of Waltersburg, PA. John (Julie) Hlipala and William (Jessica Wright) Hlipala both of Kiowa, CO. Kathy was born on April 1, 1956 in Waynesburg, PA where she attended elementary school. The family moved to Warren, OH where she attended Western Reserve High School. She managed “ Clancy’s” in Warren for many years. She then moved to Rosenberg, TX to live and manage the restaurant part of her brother Bill’s “BP Ice House” In 2002 she moved to Sandpoint to be near her sisters. Kathy was a witty and caring person who loved the company of others and brought joy to their lives. She was a talented cook and enjoyed sharing that love with her fiends and family. Her love for her late poodle “Rusty,” and love of all animals, led her to the support of the Humane Society. Seven nephews survive Kathy one niece; five great-nieces and one great-nephew.
