Lorna Verda Glazier Deibert, 93, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home (The Bridge at Sandpoint.)
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint, Idaho. Pastor Steve Neuder will be officiating.
Lorna was born on May 21, 1922 in Laclede, Idaho to William (Bill) and Agnes Sindelar. She was raised in Dover, Idaho where she attended local schools and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1942. During WWII Lorna worked for the United States Air Force manufacturing small aluminum aircraft parts in Spokane. She worked for the US Air Force until the war ended in 1945.
On June 10, 1946 Lorna married Milton A. Glazier and had two sons, Del Glazier and Mel Glazier. They Moved to Laclede in 1951 where Lorna was a stay at home mom. In 1967 Lorna and Milton purchased the Laclede Store where Lorna worked until she retired. After retirement she enjoyed spending her summers in Laclede and her winters in Apache Junction, AZ.
In November 1988 Lorna unexpectedly lost Milton Glazier, her husband of 42 years.
On September 15, 1990 Lorna married Ray Deibert.
In 2004 Lorna moved to The Bridge Assisted Living where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Lorna enjoyed being a Mom, gardening, canning, playing cards and baking. Her dinner rolls and deserts are legendary with family and friends. Lorna loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Later in life she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and bingo.
Lorna was preceded in death by her parents William and Agnes Sindelar, her 1st husband Milton A. Glazier, her 2nd husband Ray Deibert, her three sisters, Betty Ballou, Jean Oliver and Joyce Oliver.
Lorna is survived by her sons Del (& Mary) Glazier, Mel (& Karen) Glazier, her grandchildren Shaun (& Elizabeth) Glazier, Darren (& Heather) Glazier and Demarie (& Jason) Slinger, her great grandchildren Austin Glazier, Dylan Glazier and Meric Glazier.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the First Lutheran Church or your favorite charity in Lorna’s name.
