Louis E. Marshall Jr. _ passed away July 16, 2015 at the age of 70, due to complications of cancer. A resident living on Dufort Road, he very much enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for his horse Elaina, hours on his motorcycle and vigorous political conversation with his friends at Sam’s fruit stand in Sagle.
Born May 13, 1945 to Betty Preston and Louis Marshall, he grew up in East Aurora, NY, a small town the size of Sandpoint located near Buffalo. Lou was a tremendous athlete, excelling in football, skiing and swimming. He played semi pro football for a local team back in Buffalo. He spent many years working for Greene and Kellogg as a respiratory therapist, and later a district manager of sales, where he met and married former wife Constance Greene James. He sold ventilators and had the privilege of working with the late Forrest Bird, a man he had a deep admiration for, during the late 60’s. After retiring Lou packed his bags and moved to Bonner County to enjoy the mountains and lake and be closer to his eldest son. He always made sure to travel back east to see his youngest son, family and friends as well as to participate in the “Firecracker Hunting Camp” in NW Pennsylvania, a group which had been established over 50 years ago.
Lou is survived by his children Bonner County Prosecutor Louis (Angela) and Todd (Carla) along with grandchildren Nick, Lauren, Elizabeth, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Daryan and Elliott and great grandchild Charlotte. He also has a surviving sister, Karen (Doug) of Arcade N.Y.
