Maxene Louise Gray, 84 years old passed away Monday August 17, 2015 in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Maxene was born May 16, 1941 in Saint Marie’s, Idaho to Ralph and Lenore Irish Robertson. As a young child she grew up on her family’s farm in Williams Valley outside of Deer Park, Washington. She graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, Washington and attended Kinman Business College. After getting married Maxene and her family lived in many locations throughout the United States due to her husband’s serving in the US Navy. Upon retirement Maxene settled in Lynden/Bellingham, Washington until moving to Sandpoint in 2011.
Maxene was preceded in death by her parents, Lenore and Elmer Lee; Sister: Rosalee DellaPella; sons: Jon Gray and Randal Gray. Maxene is survived by her son Tom Gray (Nani) Sandpoint, son Howard Gray of Hanover, Pennsylvania; daughter: Heide Gray of Bellingham, Washington, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and her beloved kitty Little a Pepper.
Maxene was a great inspiration to her family in her love of all animals and nature. She was an active member and supporter of the World Wildlife Foundation and Defenders of Wildlife. Maxene could always be found with a pet on her lap. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed oil painting throughout her life. Maxene loved all types of gardening and her love for old movies was apparent entire life.
