Franklin D. "Skip" Carr

Franklin David “Skip” Carr, 70, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. A rosary/vigil service will be conducted 7:00PM on Friday, August 28th, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, with Father Dennis C. Day officiating. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 29th, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Pack River Cemetery. Friends may call at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel on Friday from 3:00PM until time of the rosary/vigil service. Skip was born September 4, 1944 in Detroit, MI the son of Franklin and Dorothy Carr. He was raised in Detroit and graduated St. Cecelia High School. He attended, and received his Bachelor’s degree from, Murray State University in Kentucky. He married Nancy Harmon in March of 1982 in Reno, NV. He taught English and History in Detroit and later moved to Southern California where he worked as a health care executive. In 2005 he retired and moved to Sandpoint. Skip enjoyed making wine, traveling, restoring his 1965 Ford F100 pickup, and the outdoor life style. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Nancy Carr; Children: Eron Hamill of Richmond, Canada, Zoey Hittner of Seoul South Korea, David Carr of Galena, Kansas, and Grandson Zackery Hittner; 6 siblings: Douglas Carr of Utah, Ronald Carr, Marilyn Giles, Carol Ward, Donna Owleean , Mark Carr all of Michigan, and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Kinderhaven, PO Box 2097, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864; in memory of Franklin “Skip” Carr.
