Alma Estella Fournier, 87, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Private family graveside services will be held in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Alma was born in Spokane, Washington on January 13, 1928, the daughter of Winfield and Violet Francis. The family moved to the Sandpoint area in 1939 and she attended the Algoma Grade School and then the Sagle High School. In 1946 she graduated from Sandpoint High School. On February 13, 1948 she married Bud Fournier in Couer d’Alene, Idaho and celebrated 67 years of marriage this year. Alma and Bud established the Algoma Cut Shop, in Sagle, in 1964, they later established A and B Trucking, which they operated until Alma’s retirement in 2005. Alma was the dispatcher for the trucking company.
Alma loved her family, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and especially playing Bingo. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband Bud Fournier in Sandpoint; 5 children Shorty (Karen) Fournier in Sandpoint; Chari Fournier-Adkins in Coeur d’Alene, ID; Terry Fournier in Sandpoint; Alena “Bill” Zantow in Sagle; Robin “Mark” Fournier-Pitts in Sandpoint; her grandchildren Lindsay, Jona, Katie, B J,
Tera, Chrissy, Stacy, Joey, Elizabeth, Sammy, and Savannah; also surviving are 9 great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
