Kyal Douglas Watts, 46, former Sandpoint resident died while surfing in Cosa Rica.
A celebration of Kyal Douglas Watts life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at Coffelt Funeral Chapel in Sandpoint with Pastor Steve Bradshaw and Sig Jensen officiating.
Kyal was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 23, 1968. He and his family moved to Cocolalla, Idaho in 1971 and he attended Southside Christian School and Sandpoint High School. After moving to Eureka, California, he attended Eureka High School and started working for Dutra Trucking in 1986. Kyal worked with his father and brothers in the logging and trucking industry until he branched out on his own. He sold his trucking company and became property manager at the ski lodge in Brian Head, Utah. Last year he moved to Jaco, Costa Rica where he surfed every day.
Kyal is survived by his parents, Doug and Sandy Watts, brothers Randy (Anne) Ross, Bob (Robyn) Ross, Brad Kelley Bryars, sister Kellie (Kristian) Harcourt, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kyal was blessed to have many dear friends and his beloved dog, Jack. He was preceded in death by Grandma Joie, Grandpa Wilford Watts and nephew Remi.
