Mary Lou Ellen “Lou Ellen” Gray, 91, long time area resident passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 in Moscow, ID where she had moved in 2009 to be near her son.
Private family arrangements will be held at a later time.
She was born April 10, 1924 in Kimball, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and Edith Bourlier. She attended grade school in Kimball and in 1936 moved with her family to Sandpoint. She completed her schooling graduating from Sandpoint High School. While in high school she met Evan Gray, and when he returned from the service they married on Sept. 16, 1945 in Cocolalla, Idaho. She worked at Ross Hall Studio for 27 years.
Lou Ellen was involved in boy scouts, girl scouts, Jobs Daughters, DeMolays, catered dinners for the Eastern Star of which she was a member and past matron. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, yard work, gardening, flowers, and watching squirrels.
She is survived by her son: Terry (Christine) Gray of Moscow, Idaho; and by 1 grandson: Jeff (Etta Yuki) Gray of Brooklyn, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 sister: Nellie Valasek, and 1 brother: Lawrence Bourlier.
