Judith “Katy” Kay (Mullanax) Stutzke, 63, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, November 30, 2015, in Sandpoint, Idaho, after a five year courageous and inspirational battle with cancer.
Katy was born November 12, 1952, to Thelma Darlene (Wilcox) Cottrell and Guy Mullanax in Brawley, California. She was raised in Oklahoma, later moved to Colorado and then to Sandpoint, Idaho where she met Ron Stutzke in 1975. They married in 1978 in Sandpoint.
She devoted her time to raising her children and being a wonderful wife and grandmother. She was known by her family to be the most selfless person they knew who accepted them no matter what. Though she was soft spoken, she was a faithful and loyal supporter of her husband, family and those around her. Folks appreciated her cinnamon rolls on many occasions and enjoyed her love of tabasco sauce, a bottle of which was easily accessible in her purse!
In 1978, by His amazing grace, Katy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served Him while a member of Northside Christian Fellowship. We can only imagine her joy at being in His presence at the moment of her death.
The family wants to thank the staff of Bonner General Health and the Kootenai Cancer Center for their loving care. Special thanks to the brothers and sisters in Christ at Northside Christian Fellowship and those around the world who diligently prayed for and encouraged Katy during her illness.
She is survived by her husband Ron at their home in Kootenai, Idaho; by her children Charlie (Emma) Shutts, Annie (Justin) Snyder, Kelsey (Patrick) Schabell; her daughter-in-law, Chrissy (Wayne) Broehl; ten grandchildren: Celeste, Levi, Jesse, Brooke, Anthony, Patience, Jamin, Elizabeth, Judah, Elexia, and one on the way; three great-grandchildren: Mya, Maci, Penelope; and five siblings: Sandy, Guy, Randy, Eric, Cain; and bunches of nephews and nieces.
Katy was preceded in death by her parents, her son Shane and her sister Carmen.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Ron: “I love you, Honey, and will see you soon.” We know the King is coming!
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, on Thursday, December 3, 2015 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Keith Goullette officiating. Reception to follow at Northside Christian Fellowship.
