Robert Dean “Bob” Murphree, 71, passed away suddenly, at his home on Thursday, April 2, 2009.
Family memorial services will be held at a later date.
Bob was born in Seattle, Washington on April 7, 1937, the son of Creekmore and Viola Murphree. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from high school in 1955. He served with the US Navy, in the Naval Air Corp, following high school and moved to Southern California in 1962.
He moved to Alameda, California and married Sandra Summers on Feb. 24, 1968 in Montclair, California. Bob worked, as a supervisor, for the Department of Defense, at the Alameda Air Station in California until retirement in 1993. He lived in Pleasanton, California for 25 years, moving to Cocolalla, Idaho in 1996.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a “world class tinkerer.”
He is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Sandra L. Murphree in Cocolalla, ID; 3 children Robbie Ann (Reuben) Gabriel; Lori Lea Murphree; Michael Dean (Holly) Murphree; 2 grandchildren Russell Bone and Justin Bone; and a sister-in-law Hilde Murphree.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Mack.
