Denise C. Kelley, 60, passed away in Hayden, ID on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Denise was born in Hutchison, Kansas on April 22, 1955 the daughter of Roy and Marilyn Cole. She was valedictorian of her high school graduating class in 1973 and was a state champion discus thrower. She earned her Master’s degree, in pharmacy, from the University of Kansas. In 1978 she moved to Sandpoint going to work for Bonner General Hospital in the pharmacy department. She married Calvin Kelley on July 4, 1986 in Sandpoint, Idaho.
She lived in Ketchikan, Alaska, working in the pharmacy at the local hospital, before returning to Sandpoint, in 1990, and rebuilding their cabin at Talache. The family would later move to a farm off Dufort Road raising Norwegian Fjord horses, chickens and other farm animals. She enjoyed her garden, cooking, and traveling. Most of all she liked helping her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Cal Kelley in Sagle; her son Jacob Kelley in Sagle; her brother Lee Cole in Beaver Creek, Ohio; two sisters Ruth Feder in San Francisco, CA and Cheryl Cole in Las Vegas, NV; Father in law Cal Kelley, Sr. in Sagle; brother in law Todd Kelley and nephew Garrett Kelley in Sandpoint.
She was preceded in death by her father, a WW II prisoner of war, and her mother.
