Mildred Constance Lagrou

Mildred C Lagrou, 94, of Spokane, former Sandpoint resident died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in Spokane Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 25th, in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Pastor David Olson, First Lutheran Church, will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday morning, April 25th, between 9 am and 10:30 am. She was born December 29, 1914 in Almont, North Dakota the daughter of Hogan and Anna Anderson. She moved to the Sandpoint area as a small child and was raised and educated here. She married Henry Lagrou on June 2, 1943 in Havre, Montana. Mildred was a teacher in Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint area for many years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed teaching children, being a faithful wife and all the amenities of running a household including cooking, sewing, embroidering, and knitting. Mildred also showed sincere compassion to all of her family, friends, and neighbors, especially in time of need. Mildred is survived by three children: Don (Jodi) Lagrou of Spokane, Linda (Bill) Norberg of Spokane, Barbara Lagrou of Tacoma; two grandchildren: Conni (Chad) Cossette of Waxahachie, Texas, Sam (Chrissy) Lagrou of Spokane; and two great grandchildren: Collin and Corrianna of Texas. Sister-in-Law: Violet McHenry of Coeur d’ Alene. Numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins in North Dakota and Montana. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry in 2008 The family suggests you contribute your time, talent, or money to the Quilting Circle of the First Lutheran Church, 526 So Olive, Sandpoint, Idaho, 83864 for the distribution of quilts around the world.
