Jeffrey D. “Jeff” Kemp, 61, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Monday, December 28, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be officiating with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Jeff was born on July 14, 1954 in Brewster, Washington the son of Paul and Elizabeth Kemp. At the age of 6 he moved, with his family, to Sandpoint. He graduated from the Kootenai School and then Sandpoint High School with the class of 1972. He earned his Mechanics Certificate, from North Idaho Junior College in 1973. He started working, for his father, at Kemp’s Texaco and in 1988 went to work for Sandpoint Motors. He worked as a service manager, retiring from Taylor Parker Motors in 2011 for health reasons.
Jeff loved to go 4 – wheeling with family and friends and knew no fear. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, collecting Chevrolet Corvettes with his father, tinkering in his shop and turning small jobs into big projects. He liked to do things “his way.”
He is survived by his children Melinda Kemp (and Patrick Park) in Cocolalla; Chris (and Marina) Kemp in Sandpoint; siblings Randy Kemp in Hayden, ID; and Candy (and Rodney) MacDonald in Yelm, WA.
Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
