Catherine Ann Price

Catherine Ann Price, 87, went peacefully to be with her lord on April 7, 2016 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Encinitas, CA. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 13, 2016 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis C. Day officiating. The Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm, on Friday, August 12, 2016 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery. Catherine was born July 2, 1928 in Oak Park, Ill to Harold and Hazel Mahoney. She grew up in Oak Park, Ill and went to Northwestern University where she studied to be an x-ray technician. She had wanted to be a doctor but her Father who had helped bring x-ray into the United States from Germany told her women were to be nurses. She had a strong Irish personality and decided an x-ray tech was closer to being a doctor. She married John Mueller in 1951 and had their first child, Michael Mueller and moved to San Francisco. They went on to have 2 more sons, John Mueller III (wife Nicole, grandson Jonathon), Kevin Mueller (wife Colleen, granddaughter Tiff) and daughter, Cynthia (Mueller) Filips, husband Gary, Grandchildren Alexander, Samantha and Christopher. Husband number 1, John passed away in 1960. She remarried, Frank Salvisberg in 1967 and moved from Marin County to Loomis, CA. Husband number 2, Frank passed away in 1992. She then married husband number 3, long time friend, Richard Price in 1993. They left California, happily, in 1997 to a place they so loved, Sandpoint, ID. Richard passed away in 2006. She was a long time member of St. Josephs Parish and loved to take communion to the sick and homebound. She loved football and was a long time 49er fan. She also was an animal lover of all kinds but especially her cat Martini, and dogs (Boxers) all with biblical names, Petra, Bismark, Sarah, Soloman, Rachel and Rebecca who just passed on July 31, 2016.
