Peggy Martin, 82, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Thursday, April 28, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be officiating with burial following in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Peggy was born on January 27, 1934 in Colbert, Washington, the daughter of William and Clara Shuster. She was home schooled while living in Wilbur, WA; Myrtle Point, OR; and Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She attended high school in Newport, Washington and married Melvin Glenn Martin on June 4, 1949 in Newport, Washington who preceded her in death on December 21, 2010.
A longtime resident, Peggy worked as a waitress and hostess at the Sandpoint Café, Connie’s, Travelers, and the Edgewater. She also worked for Safeway’s, in the meat department, for many years.
She enjoyed traveling in the family 5th wheel, being outdoors where she could hunt, fish, gather mushrooms and pick huckleberries. She served as a Cub Scout den mother.
Peggy is survived by her 3 children Allen Martin in Colville, WA; Dale Martin in Hayden, Id; Jack Martin in Sandpoint, ID; Grandchildren Colleen, Debbie, Stephanie, Kayla, Bryan, and Keenan; 5 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; her sisters Judy Clark in Oldtown, D; Jeanne Hill in Portland, OR; two special lifetime friends Rosa Buck in Spokane and Gloria Moran in Sandpoint, ID.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her step father Ray Sitton, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
